Republican french calendar

Thanks to the “citoyen” Philippe François Nazaire Fabre ( 1750-1794 ), says Fabre d'Eglantine. This nickname coming him from the trophy of Golden Dog Rose which he won at the Games Floreaux of Toulouse. This poet, born in Carcassonne, is also the author of childish song “It is raining, it is raining shepherdess …”. He created, in 1793, the french revolutionary calendar by being inspired by the rhythm of the seasons. The revolution made him behead with Danton and Desmoulins.
Of it “A little of poetry in a time of brutes” we stay this bookkeeper Mother Nature's panegyric.
